Another Canadian Show Gets Picked Up By A U.S. Network

The CW, which already runs CBC's "Coroner," will soon be adding Global's "Family Law" to its list of shows that get some southern exposure. The real question is whether they'll blow it off in the summer or keep it as part of its regular season line-up.

Thanks to SOWNY member Media Observer for the head's up.

Re: Another Canadian Show Gets Picked Up By A U.S. Network

Well CW doesn't have much to "blow off" at anytime.  This network has trouble hitting a million viewers in prime time and almost never does.  Last Friday two original shows, Charmed and Dynasty (the new version) had beyond terrible ratings.  Charmed chimed in with 296,000 viewers and Dynasty an unbelievable 204,000 people tuning in.  These were not repeats either.  So with 220 CW affiliates, some of the smaller outlets basically had no viewers.

However nice that they picked up Family Law which was only in the top 30 once for Global with 652,000 viewers for the first show in September.  It was renewed for a second season a while back.  Wouldn't be surprised if CW picks up more cancon in the weeks ahead.
