Netflix Subscribers May Want To See This Broadcast-Related Documentary

Not sure how many here know the name Jimmy Savile. He was an enormous superstar on radio and TV in Britain during the 60s and 70s, one of the most popular disc jockeys and television stars that country has ever produced. He was especially famous for his kid shows, which millions of children watched on the "telly" as they grew up in the U.K.

He also raised millions of dollars for charities and was even knighted by the Queen. There is simply no way to stress how famous and admired he was.

But there was a very dark side to this man that was never revealed until after his death. It turns out Savile was one of the worst pedophiles in modern history, terribly abusing the very children he entertained for so many years. And his story has become a cause celebre and a warning that's still echoing around Great Britain. How did he get away with it his entire life without anyone ever saying anything?

That's the subject of a new Netflix documentary titled, "Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story." Using vintage video and audio along with interviews, it attempts to delve into this scandal that no one knew about until after the monster who committed these crimes was gone.

The closest I can come to a comparison of the shock this created across the pond may be the Bill Cosby accusations and conviction, though he's now a free man. Anyway, if this broadcast-related documentary interests you, the show begins airing on the streaming service on April 6th. You can watch the preview trailer below.

I intend to watch this today.  Saville fooled most of the public for a long time, but his 'dark side' was known to many.
It's easy to see how some people can fool some of the people some of the time.
