Why AM radio could be revitalized by this obsolete technology

I'm not sure I buy any of this (although I would love to try out one of the radios cited in the piece) but I found it an interesting if somewhat implausible idea.

Don't ever trust or believe an article with the word "could" in the headline. Fake news. Narcity, I'm looking in your direction.

That's just wideband AM.  Fitz has an AM Stereo tuner with 10 KHz bandwidth, and has even supplied air checks from his own transmitter, using his tuner.

By the way, any of you that have worked at AM stations and listened to the board feed, versus the program; well you were listening to wideband AM.  In the US, some AM operators have purposefully limited their transmissions to 5 KHz.  Given this, I wouldn't expect wideband AM to regain traction.
