It's called The Magnolia Network, a U.S. cable entity that started life several decades ago as the DIY Network. It's since morphed from a handyman type channel to a station focusing on lifestyle. So in other words, a station I would never want to watch or subscribe to.
The net will officially become available on March 28th, with a free preview on until the end of the month. If you already subscribe to or get DYI in your cable package, you'll be automatically switched to Magnolia at launch.

DYI Canada, like HGTV was always an American transplant. I think it's smart for the sharing ability for programming, branding, marketing etc. It will always be Canadian formatted on this side of the boarder with content requirements, but sharing a brand name does allow them to work jointly on programming has they have with HGTV over the years.
I also feel HGTV and take on some of the displaced DYI programming, as it's not really that different.
