This isn't a story involving people most of us know - the victim is host of a local show which I believe airs on CIRF-AM in Brampton, the ethnic station at 1350 AM. So I'm guessing the majority who read these pages have never heard of Deepak Punj. Still, he seems to have a following in the large Indian community in the GTA, and while some are skeptical of his claims, the fact cops are investigating shows they believe it actually happened. 

If nothing else, it shows how deep the divisions are in some communities in this city, but attacking a talk show host is a new low, no matter what the reason. And in this case, the reason for the alleged attack seems completely unnecessary.
