Thought there was enough interest in this that it should have its own thread. Toronto Mike, who is very plugged into the local radio industry, has posted that what was once Flow93.5 will be "Today's Radio" as of Monday. He predicts it will feature "today's biggest hits."
Just what the city didn't need - another cookie cutter playing the same music and chasing the same audience as everyone else. We'll see what happens come Monday.
Thanks for posting this info, TM!

oh great the 5th station in the city playing CHR ( if you include CHUM 104.5). Just what we did not need.
An interesting side development. Right now there are two Flows in the city according to on air ID's and RDS info. Both 93.5 and 98.7 are identifying as Flow. I heard an ID on 98.7 where they said Flow todays Hip Hop and R & B or something similar.

Right on the name, wrong on the format. The Calgary station he swiped that logo from is not CHR itself.

If indeed Today comes and is formatted like the Pattison owned station in Calgary or the Now stations owned by Pattison I expect the format to take listeners from Kiss/CHUM/CHFI/virgin and to a lesser extent Boom/Q/Edge/Indie. Just because they do play everything. But it would also mean live shows all day as the general idea of the station is a conversation station. So lots of listener interaction with the hosts through phone calls (remember those) as well as texts and social media

Just looked at the recently played on the Calgary Today and the playlist is indeed varied. Still too mainstream for me but more interesting than CHR or Classic Hits or Boom.
Would there not be an issue with Stingray using that logo and even the name ?
Maybe they won't use either or maybe they will license it like they licensed Flow to 98.7
