NBC Nightly News Bids Farewell To Former CBC Correspondent

Kevin Tibbles is a familiar face for those who watch NBC Nightly News. He's been with the network for almost 30 years. But before he ended up stateside, the Canadian-born newsman worked as a correspondent for CBC. He joined NBC in 1995 and has been there ever since.

On Thursday, the network paid a touching farewell to their longtime reporter, who is retiring and leaving broadcasting behind. It was a nice piece and even includes a snippet of footage from his time in Canadian TV. Worth a look if you've got 3 minutes to spare and something you don't often see on a big U.S. network.

Re: NBC Nightly News Bids Farewell To Former CBC Correspondent

A great storyteller who will be missed.

He was on the Today show this morning for a farewell live interview. When asked why he always seemed to be reporting from some very cold places, he said as a proud Canadian... who else would they send? He was speaking from his Chicago home where he's lived for the past 20 years and pointed out it was snowing outside. As for the future, he said he has a winterized summer place in Quebec overlooking the St. Lawrence where he will sit and "watch the boats go by" which sounds idyllic. All the best in your retirement Kevin!
