    Don Wilson of The Ventures dead at 88

    Co-founder and rhythm guitarist for the group that many credit for creating "surf rock" passed away peacefully earlier today, according to his family.

    The ventures were an influence on so many artists. I was watching a fairly recent interview with Dave Davies of the Kinks and he said that the major influence on his guitar part on You Really Got Me and All Day and All of the Night were the Ventures and the song Walk Don't Run.. Not something that comes to mind when listening to those songs.
