They've been doing that with sports for the last few weeks and just started doing that with weather.

Actually, Adam Atkinson threw to Steve Ruddick on weather with no other chit chat, and sports just came back from break, did the sports segment, then back to break.

Does CHCH do this all the time, or just for the weekend?
 

I wonder if it has anything to do with their imminent  move to new studios and building across the street in Hamilton's Innovation Park.  CHCH should have been in the building months ago but likely had supply chain delays installing and receiving the new equipment.  I drove by about four weeks ago and the building and new addition were complete on the outside but I have no idea where they were with installing all of the updated technology and new equipment inside.  The new building itself looks very modern and there were a few CHCH vehicles in the parking lot, although 99% of the vehicles  were still parked across the street at the temporary location.  Hope when they finally move in that they have an open house for the public.  

I watch regularly...the standard 'light-talk' banter or transition from Anchor over to a sports or weather presenter wasn't going well. Some days cringe, some days clumsy, occasionally went on weird tangents. Have seen this now and then with Dwight Drummond and Colette Kennedy. Not always smooth. (Hey it's a skill I don't have, not judging!)  I'm a fan of the CityNews silent hard turn to the next story. It's an efficient update to the formula. Someone on this board once wrote "we all know the handshake" with respect to tv newscast production.
