The regular live commercial for Tom's Place this morning was worse than normal with Tom babbling about how his clothes didn't need Botox, they hang just fine, once again trying to play radio disc jockey. In the moment before the Tom's Place spot, John Moore had been talking about the camels/cosmetic altering with Botox story. I know Tom's a good guy, does a lot for the community, and has a great store but he's not doing himself any favors and I genuinely wondered if he was physically unwell he was so incoherent.
He sure didn't convince any listeners to head to Tom's Place.
Once Tom ended his bit with the sentence fragments, John Moore charmingly quipped that you could find a good camel coat at Tom's Place, proof real radio chops save the day, or at least get your show back on the rails.

Thanks. I wouldn't know. I don't listen to that crap.
"Don't like it don't listen..."
AND listen I DON'T!!!!
(but DO let us all know when the station gets better radio ads!!)

Some may not like Tom's style .. but he's genuine.
I much prefer genuine over "Big name radio shills" like being discussed in a different thread here.
That said .. Tom pays money to advertise .. it's a dangerous game to mock advertisers.

Just to clarify, John's suggesting the camel coat was said in a friendly supportive fashion, pun unintended. Mr. Moore always has impeccable manners on-air.
"Don't like it, don't listen." is specious Radiowiz, and ignores the bad business reality of a listener not flipping back to 1010 if they do go to another station during the Tom's Place spot. But I get what you're saying.
I like Tom, love listening to Moore In The Morning, (Robert Turner has been really on his game this week, what a hoot that guy is), and posted this because I felt badly for a man who's spending his hard earned money on radio advertising, and not reaching possible customers.
grilled cheese is right, Tommy Tommy indeed.
