If you watched Monday night's 9-1-1 on either Fox or Global (spoiler alert ahead) you likely saw the surprise exit of actor Rockmond Dunbar, one of the main family characters in the show. It wasn't expected or announced and now we know why. The real reason for his sudden departure is more dramatic than any plot in the script - he refuses to take a COVID vaccine and the producers won't allow him to continue without one. 

There have been other instances of actors leaving their shows over this issue, but I can't recall one that affected a primetime program with such high ratings or profile.
