Classical 96.3FM's Bill "Big Country" Anderson Retires

http://classicalfm.ca/station-blog/2021/10/08/bill-anderson-retires/

"In case you missed it, this Friday was Bill Anderson’s last shift here at The New Classical FM. After almost 60 years in broadcasting, he is heading into retirement to enjoy time with his family and travel.

Over the past week we have heard from countless listeners thanking Bill for his time on-air, sharing their memories, and wishing him well.

Thank you so much for sharing all of these sentiments with us. We wish Bill and his family nothing but the best as he moves on to the next adventure in his life."

I love his creative ability to mention the late great Country59 without actually mentioning Country 59.
(along with CFGM and Pelmorex, lol)

YUP! That's Bill Anderson doing the voice work for that commercial!
He also did the last shift and the last good bye.
"Thank-you for listening, we're gonna miss ya!"
Listen to the final ads on Country 59 and Bill Anderson saying good bye here:

I worked for Bill at Country 59, survived the Key 590 cuts.  He was a super nice man
