New member...o.k. I get that....duh...
But can someone tell me why some members are referred to as "member" under their log in name while others are designated as "contributors" ??
I've looked at the the index and join pages but didn't see any info...
Is it the number of posts contributed ?? Or perhaps length of time since joining the board ??
Just who's who ? And why ?
I can't seem to make rhyme nor reason why different folks have these different titles...
It's a mystery to me...

It's a boardhost thing. You can assign 'names' to posters at different posting levels. So if you post 1-10 you're a whatever, and 11 through 99 is a thing and 100 through 10000 is something else.
I think it's kinda dumb, but you can't turn it off. I suppose I could just put the same thing in all the boxes.
It's an awful way to judge quality of contribution. I'd rather have 5 great posts from one person than 500 from an idiot .
