Newstalk 1010's pundit Scott Reid calls out some of the media?

Sounding off, something Scott does regularly, and of all of the contributors on Newstalk 1010, he is one of their better brains.

Times like these, I really miss Christie Blatchford.

Scott Reid is probably my fav contributor .. I rarely disagree with his views.    & yes, Blatch is always missed.

betaylored...I don't catch Talk Radio these days as I'm home and not driving or listening at work.

That said,  I loved this guy's clip.  Time to start using the Stingray radio channels on my Rogers package for more than music.  What time is he on?

PS  Agree re: Blatch!

I don't know about his other radio, tv and podcast gigs Media Observer.

Scott is often on with John Moore just after the 6:15 am traffic report, to discuss the major news stories one on one for a few minutes, the segment has a name, but I have migraine brain right now so can't remember it. Maybe someone else can pipe up and let us know the name of the feature and also the other shows Scott appears on.

He's also a regular on the M.I.T.M. roundtable discussions, and is a Habs fan, there's a whole lot of us around in Toronto.

1010's roundtable contributor lineup seems to be going through a major rebuild and one or two of the pundits I've heard lately were, to be tactful, not ready for prime time... that old expression about walking and chewing gum comes to mind.

Re: Newstalk 1010's pundit Scott Reid calls out some of the media?

The Toronto Star had a good editorial in Saturday's paper examining the anger that came out so much during the past campaign.  They had an interesting take on the media's role in this..."Media too, must examine their tendency to amplify the angriest voices, making the grievances of an implacable few the soundtrack of election campaigns.."  I never understood why so many disgruntled small groups with an axe to grind or questionable tactics seem to get so much press and air time.  I put it down that much of our news media likes to go for the easy story, and this is why they get played so much by fringe types that shout the loudest but only are a concern to a very small part of the general population.

In the same vein as who's policing the police, we want to know who's reporting on the media and this ties it up neatly paterson1, thank you.
