CBC Partners With CBS' Paramount+ Streamer For New Medical Series

The CBC and the CBS streamer Paramount+ have teamed up to produce a show called "SkyMed."

According to a press release, it won't be just another medical/doctor show, because of this twist - it takes place in the far north and involves flying ambulances and the people who make them work in the air.

"Life, death, and drama at 20,000 feet, SKYMED weaves together intense character journeys and high stakes medical rescues as we follow the triumphs, heartbreaks and tribulations of budding nurses and pilots flying air ambulances in remote Northern Canada. They’re all in over their heads, and on their own, with no one to rely on but each other."

No word on when this will be ready for air, but if this interests you, at least you probably won't have to pay to see it. While it will be on a paywalled streaming service in the U.S., I'm betting the CBC will be showing it on their regular network and on GEM. One of the few times it works to our advantage!
