CKFH 1430 - "The Whole Bag"
We were downsizing my Father-in-law's house and I came across this ad for CKFH 1430 for your amusement!

That's a great ad. Here are two more mentions of the Whole Bag (later renamed the Open Lid if memory serves.) The first is from Sept. 1966, the second from May, one year later. Notice Big G Walters was not listed as the original host.

Didn't realize Tom Fulton originally co-hosted The Whole Bag with Todd Stanleigh (a name I'm totally unfamiliar with). Big G took over in January 1967 and Fulton moved to afternoon drive.

Strangely, I was wondering just this week. Is there still a station on 1430 in Toronto?
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

1430 & 590 swapped frequencies. Fan 1430 moved down the dial to 590 when Rogers bought 590 AM
1430 did not get to be Country 1430 though. It was sold to Fairchild radio.

Eventually Big G would move to the 7-10 slot then Kenny Wells 10-1 and I followed Kenny 1-6 am
As Kenny (Special K) used to say. It’s Big G for Goodness and Special K for protein.

I think this may be the ad you saw that led you to that gig.
Your segment was called "Where It's At" and featured R&B. 
It was obviously a big hit under your stewardship.
Big G Walters was gone from CKFH by 1968.
Sadly, Kennie Wells' life did not have the proverbial happy ending.

RA!!!! I have never seen the ad, ever. Never, ever, ever that read requiring all night jock. Wow!!! This blows my mind. Tom Williams contact with me was by telephone. He heard about me through the late Walt Grealis. Thank you sir.

You're right. I had forgotten all about that until you reminded me
Back when they were 1430, they were giving away their coffee mugs at McD. This was in Owen Sound, where we couldn't even get the station.
