Toronto Star's Star Columnist Charged With Assault

There are few details being released about the strange circumstances surrounding the charges against high profile columnist Rosie DiManno.

It should be interesting to watch how The Star covers this story as it moves forward. I smell a Kathy English Public Editor's story coming.

Did Rosie finally come thru on her recent threat to rip out Warmington's throat?

Doesn't surprise me, if it's true.

The few times I've worked in the same media room as her, she gave off a vibe that seemed to say "stay the hell away from me."

A lot of people did.

No but you can bet The Scrawler is working on getting the details for a story in The Sun.

Re: Toronto Star's Star Columnist Charged With Assault

from the Peterborough Examiner web site...

BANCROFT - The court case of a Toronto Star columnist charged with assault has been postponed until next month.

Rosie DiManno wasn't in the Bancroft, courthouse Tuesday but a lawyer appeared on her behalf.

Another court date has been scheduled for Aug. 23.

DiManno was charged with assault earlier this month in connection with an incident that allegedly took place July 12.

Ontario Provincial Police say DiManno, 60, and the alleged victim were visiting at Finnegan Lake near Coe Hill, about 90 kilometres northeast of Peterborough, when the assault occurred.

No details about the alleged victim have been released.
