Blue Jays on Sportsnet

The audio and video are out of sync for today's game.  Buck calls the play and then 2 - 3 seconds later it actually happens.  Maybe he is psychic.

Re: Blue Jays on Sportsnet

If true...then "F... it"  I give up!

I've been a Buck fan for a long time; and have missed him when he was not calling a game.

That said, this damn pandemic has opened too many windows that I don't want to look through.  If this is indeed the reason that Buck is still in the the US,  then... "thanks for the memories" and please SN, take your time and hire an exceptional replacement for 2022.

Re: Blue Jays on Sportsnet

My question then is - does  Rogers or Rogers Sportsnet require their folks to be vaccinated in order to come into their studios or the Rogers Centre broadcast booth?...I'm guessing Buck doesn't want to or can't go through the Canadian airport Covid protocols to enter Canada (testing, quarantine, no jab)...

If that is company policy Buck is in non-compliance as he should be in the studio and in the stadium to call a game as he's under contract with Rogers...not from his Florida home studio...imagine some junior staffer on contract refusing to get vaxxed if it's mandatory and not coming into work?...he wouldn't last 3 secs

I do not in any way disagree with your take as it applies to employee/employer requirements; however my reaction is a degree deeper.  People are dying and if you are not willing to vaccinate,  then stay south of the 49th.!

Re: Blue Jays on Sportsnet

I did a Twitter search on "Buck Martinez" and saw that people have made reference to him not coming to Toronto due to lack of vaccinations.  I wonder if the "main stream media" will investigate and report the story?

- Not an industry person.  Just a guy with a love of Toronto radio.

How is it news? 50% of Americans are  unvaccinated. If Rogers had found a way for him to be in Toronto despite that, then maybe you'd have a story.

41.3%, more accurately. Though that varies significantly from state to state.
