Brent Bambury Taking "Indefinite Leave" From CBC Radio's Day 6

The show has been airing for more than a decade on CBC Radio 1, replacing "Go," which was also hosted by Brent Bambury. But on Saturday's wrap up credits, Bambury revealed he was taking a vacation - but would not return when it was over.

He went on to explain that he and his partner were adopting a "toddler" and that he intended to take a long leave of absence to welcome the kid into his family. There was no word on when he might return, but he vowed that he eventually would.

Not sure if there's a permanent replacement in the works while he's off.

Day 6 is one of the few CBC Radio shows I listen to on a semi-regular basis. But it's not as good when he's not on it.

Re: Brent Bambury Taking "Indefinite Leave" From CBC Radio's Day 6

It's been over a year since Brent Bambury left as host of CBC Radio 1's Saturday stalwart, Day 6. He's back beginning next week, after taking a paternity leave to help raise his new son.

The move means another shift elsewhere on the network. Saroja Couehlo, who had been the Day 6 substitute host, is now going back to mornings on CBC Music.

Agreed. The show wasn't as good without him.
