Why You Should Be Worried About The Leadership At The CRTC

From the Toronto Star comes an analysis about the stunning and complete reversal of a decision to lower Internet prices for consumers and why there's reason to believe the CRTC is no longer working in your favour, but in the interests of Bell and Rogers.

Eye opening stuff, but in the end, really not all that surprising.

Is the CRTC getting too cosy with big telecom? Star analysis finds major telecoms met with government and CRTC officials hundreds of times prior to reversal on wholesale internet rates

Re: Why You Should Be Worried About The Leadership At The CRTC

If you think the above article is disturbing, try reading this unctuous bit of bilge from a Bell executive. It's an opinion piece in the Toronto Star that makes the claim that not only is the decision not to lower prices a good thing for consumers, but that Canada has some of the most competitive and cheapest Internet rates in the world.

I'm not sure which world he's living in, but it's not one anyone I know occupies.

Forget the rhetoric. CRTC’s internet pricing reversal is actually a boon for some resellers
