Have to say I was surprised that the major Amnets didn't drop regular programming and cover the Dallas massacre. While 4 cops (as of this posting) were killed and at least 7 more injured, plus a bomb threat was ongoing, Jimmy Fallon was laughing hysterically at comedian Jim Gaffigan on NBC, Seth Rogen was saying nothing special on Colbert's CBS show, and Kevin Hart was trying to get laughs on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel. It wasn't until that network's Nightline came on, that mainstream networks even mentioned anything was going on.
Yes, it might have taken some time to assemble a team, but they've done it before on short notice late at night.
Maybe there was just too much money at stake or maybe they've just surrendered to the cable outlets.
But given all the racial tensions across North America involving police in the last 48 hours, if this wasn't worthy of interrupting the late night shows, I'm not sure what is. Instead it was up to the cable all news outlets to go wall-to-wall.
