You've probably never heard of Ray Cordeiro but he's in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest disc jockey in history. The man who brought rock and roll to Hong Kong is 96 years old, holds the title in Guinness and just recently retired.
But as incredible as it seems, that may mean he might lose the title. A DJ named Art Laboe, who's been a legend in Los Angeles for longer than most of us have been alive, turns 96 himself in August. And he's still on the air, doing a weekly radio request show on KDAY-FM.
They say if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I suppose that may be true for these two. But can you imagine yourself still working in radio - or anywhere for that matter - when you're in your 90s? Much as I love the biz at times, I think that might be playing the hits - and taking them - a bit too long.
