Back in February Netflix announced that they planned to have a permanent corporate office in Canada. At the time they indicated that it would be either in Vancouver or Toronto. Yesterday Mayor Tory and the company announced it would be in Toronto.
The city has long been a production hub for Netflix, spending over $200 million annually in productions in Toronto. The huge streaming company has long term lease agreements with studio and office space of 164,000 square feet at Cinespace and a further 84,500 square feet in studio space at Toronto's Pinewood Studio's.
