Retro TV Returns - This Time, Online, For Free & With No Geoblocking

Some here may remember when the Buffalo stations first went HD and fired up their subcarriers, there was a popular service on WGRZ's 2.2 called "Retro TV." It showed a slew of reruns and great old shows, long unseen on the tube. It was eventually replaced by the mostly superior Antenna TV, and Retro virtually disappeared from this area, although it remained on the air in other markets.

Now the people behind the nostalgia network have put it up online for free. And from my early tests, it appears it's not geoblocked, so you don't need a VPN to watch it. Among the shows on the station: The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet, Dr. Who, One Step Beyond, Ray Bradbury Theater, The Naked City (a drama not a porn show for those too young to remember it!), The Lucy Show, The Beverly Hillbillies, Dragnet, The Lone Ranger, Bonanza, Roy Rogers, and various shows that begin with "The Adventures of," including Annie Oakley, Kit Carson and Sherlock Holmes.

paterson1 may be pleased to hear they've also bought a lot of Canadian shows to fill the time, including The Republic of Doyle, Heartland, da Vinci's Inquest, Murdoch Mysteries and Police Surgeon.

O.K., not a stellar line-up, but if even one of those shows is of interest to you, at least you can see it for free. Important to note it's a live stream, which means you can't select what you want to see when you hit the site. But at least it's another option for those looking for something to watch for free.

For some reason, they've encased the feed onto a TV set. But if you go full screen, it disappears. You can sample it for yourself and see if it works for you here.

By the way, the same company also offers two other online channels: Heartland Network, a country music-oriented outlet and Re'vn, a station dedicated to cars, trucks and all things automotive.
