There is definitely still a surprising lack of women in sports broadcasting, aside from anchoring (e.g. Sportsnet Central) and sometimes interviewing roles (e.g. Hazel Mae on the Blue Jays telecasts). Curling is probably one of the few sports (at least in Canada) where women are found in play-by-play roles regardless of whether it's mens' or womens' play.
