Dick Williams won't be a familiar name for everyone in the GTA, but for those who've ever turned on the radio in London, he's a legend. He's penned a new tome about a life in radio, highlighted here. Williams is all over Dale Patterson's Rock Radio Scrapbook, if anyone here wants to sample his on-air work.

I used to listen to him every evening when I was a kid of 10....
I worked directly with him 20 years later...

In 1962 my job at the time had me working in Lambeth, just outside of London back then, for about 9 months and I listened to Dick Williams playing the hits every evening after the 6PM news on CFPL. That was 54 years ago.
I grew up listening to The Tall One. One of the great ones, who inspired me to get into radio.

Dick has always maintained that HE was the first d.j. to play a Beatles record in Canada...
Don't know how true that is but that's his story and he's sticking to it...
