    I met Gordie at an event we were both participating in in the mid 80s at 'the Gardens'.  Down to earth, friendly, welcoming.  A really good guy and one of the 3 best EVER.  RIP Gordie.  Thanks for all the great times and the A-1 memories you provided for us all... ... ...

    Gordie Howe also personally met Muhammad Ali according to Peter Mansbridge on the National (Mansbridge didn't mention Old Codger's meeting though).     Interesting that both went to their reward within a few days of ea. other
