That's because it went off the air in 1934. But long before there was a CKPC, this early and forgotten radio pioneer was broadcasting to the city - and apparently making a huge impression.
"In 1931, the mayoral campaign was run between Ross Beckett, who was seeking re-election, and Morrison MacBride. Many listeners tuned in to 10BQ one night to hear MacBride speak, followed by Beckett. During Beckett’s speech, the station began fading, then went dead. Upset listeners phoned 10BQ, jamming the switchboard at the Bell Telephone Co office on Dalhousie Street. Extra operators had to be summoned."
