Does Anyone Remember This CHUM Announcer?
I've never heard of Terry Davies before. He was apparently a CHUM newscaster in 1966, according to this incredibly good quality aircheck. I probably never listened to the news back then, so it's unlikely I would have heard him. But man, for a Top 40 station, this seems like a very looooong segment - especially the amazingly long sportscast. And as the sole commenter on the YouTube page points out, he sounds an awful lot like a CFRB-style reader.
The small bit of Duff Roman at the end indicates he was working either the very late night shift or early mornings, back when full service stations still had newscasts overnight.

I know Terry very well. He was only at CHUM for about a year. He later went to CTV and CBC.

Hey Dale! Great aircheck of the week on Rock Radio Scrapbook today. Tom Rivers from December 5 1970 and Brian Williams with a newscast. Surprising not a lot of commercials right before Christmas. Super aircheck and good quality.

The Riv is on fire on this 'check late into his first year at CHUM. Having Brian Williams on there is a nice bonus. It doesn't get much better than this.
