Career Opportunity: Master Control Operator 

The Shaw Media team based in Toronto is currently seeking a Master Control Operator. This is a full time, temporary position to cover a maternity leave and requires shift work. This position reports directly to the Manager, Master Control. 

Working hours: This position requires shift work in a 24/7 rotation including overnights, weekends and holidays.

Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions and does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities for this position:

• Utilize Imagine Communications D-Series broadcast automation system to prepare program logs for broadcast 
• An understanding of video server functionality and networking between computer systems is an asset 
• Maintain Signal QC ensuring all BDU’s and streaming Apps are receiving our Content
• Communicate at a high level with various Shaw departments and external clients and partners 
• Troubleshoot and problem solve on-air issues plus escalate through established procedures
• Understanding of broadcast processes and signal flow through transmission 
• Switch programs manually during live events 
• Be able to understand and prioritize workload to properly accomplish tasks within timeframe 
• Perform other duties as required 

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will have a proven ability to operate broadcast equipment, including Imagine Communications D-Series Automation System and possess high attention to detail during all daily tasks and communication. 
• Ideally, an applicant will have two (2) year's working experience in a Master Control environment. 
• Experience with Windows software including Word, Excel and Outlook is also required.
