Nice promo for the 98th anniversary with a bit of humour. 980 CFPL in it's day was the CFRB of London (still is more or less). The Blackburn family had quite the operation in London with two radio stations, The London Free Press, CFPL TV, PennySaver and a research company the name of which escapes me.
Happy 98th Birthday 980 CFPL!

And here is a Lively Guys PAMS jingle package for CFPL from the early 60's.
From the late 70's longer jingles with "Listen to Your City" produced by TM Productions
Both of these from Radio West

CFPL & Bill Brady. What a combination.
Had the pleasure of working at PL late 79/80 and Bill was the station manager. A great guy and one of the funniest people I have ever met. Smart, down to earth and a very funny man.
He once introduced a well known comedian at the Western Fair. Too bad for the comedian as Bill spent a few minutes first to talk about London, the mayor, council, taxes...all things local and the audience was howling with laughter. Bill Brady would be a hard act to follow...

Sadly, CFPL has gone downhill in recent years. Still nice to see them celebrate their history, since so many stations ignore it.

PL is still a good station...London has two talk radio outlets with CJBK as the other credible talker..Actually most AM stations do celebrate their history. Possibly because some might not be around much longer. CFRB dropped the ball badly for their 90th, however most stations do recognize and celebrate the big dates to some extent. Often depends how well they are connected to their listeners.
