CTV's Transplant has Debut September 1st 10pm on NBC

NBC has given the 13 episode series Transplant a good time slot with 10pm east and 9pm central and the debut on Tuesday September 1st. The following day the program will be featured on NBC's new Peacock streaming service. Guess that will be one show that Corus will not run here?

My understanding is the "on air" shows are still bought by Canadian networks.  Corus bought the "Peacock only" content.

One American critic has called "Transplant" the greatest medical show to ever air on NBC or any U.S. network. That's a tough standard to live up to, considering the programs that have been on the network in the past, notes Canadian TV scribe Bill Broux.

“The series will make its debut as the best medical show on American television, which is something given the competition,” writes John Anderson in The Wall Street Journal. “And while it’s a bit early for a full-blown diagnosis, it may turn out to be one of the better dramas the network has ever had.”

That’s high praise given that NBC’s list of medical dramas alone has ranged from ER and St. Elsewhere to the current hits New Amsterdam and Chicago Med.

That is maybe a little overdone with the praise, sort of like calling an exciting new group "the next Beatles."  Usually doesn't work out that way when expectations are ballooned out of proportion.

Hopefully Transplant will be well received.  CTV has ordered a season two, and if this first run does well on NBC it will be interesting to see if they run the second.

Coroner, the CBC import on the CW has been US networks highest rated show on Wednesday evening.  However this is not saying much since the CW ratings have been terrible in prime time, usually way under one million viewers.
