ABC To Air "Black Panther" & Boseman Tribute Commercial Free Sunday

It's rare that a network can pivot so quickly when it comes to entertainment (and not news), but you've got to give full marks to ABC in the U.S., which has pulled all its Sunday night game shows in favour of the OTA debut of "Blank Panther" starring the late Chadwick Boseman. (He passed away from cancer this weekend, stunning many who didn't even know he was sick.)

What strikes me most about this is that the network is showing the movie with no commercials, essentially, if temporarily, putting it on the same footing as pay-cable networks, and will follow the film with a 40 minute tribute to the actor, which I assume will also be spot-free.

It's rare that network owner Disney would give up all that valuable air time and such a marketable movie, but if you've never seen the film and always wanted to for free, this is your chance. It airs Sunday night at 8 PM, with the tribute to follow. Note that the change is so sudden, it's not likely to be included in your electronic program guide. So adjust the time on your DVR accordingly.
