iHeart Radio and Bell

With iHeart coming to Canada, does that mean Bell will be flipping one of their local stations or will it remain just a streaming outlet?

Re: iHeart Radio and Bell

iHeart isn't a format brand....just an umbrella. So no flips.

And then there's this:

Coming, the collapse of radio’s iHeartMedia

And just like in so many other sectors, once the number-crunching accountants seized control, all relevance to listener interests and talent recognition went out the window. Share value, stock options, and the expectation of every-increasing future value and asset plundering became the byword. Longevity and loyalty building? Hah! That's so 20th Century.

Everyone over the cliff.

I've read that the iHeart portal and app have been wildly successful. It's the actual radio part of the business they're driving into the ground.

There are more companies to follow.  The CRTC allowed this to happen up here.  They can share the blame.  They sure earned it.  After all it won't be just in the states that this will happen.  A fool could see AND HEAR this coming.  And then they allowed them to EXPAND?!?!?

'They've programmed the goose that laid the golden eggs into the crock pot.

Idiots.
