It's the number one morning show in the ratings and it hasn't had a permanent host since Matt Galloway left for The Current in December. But now CBC Radio 1 brass have finally made a decision about the right person to sit in that chair, after months of rotating guest hosts. 

It's Ismaila Alfa. 

Who? He's sat in occasionally as a fill-in but has otherwise been fronting a CBC Radio show in Winnipeg, which is why he's not exactly a household name here. He starts in August, meaning the show has essentially been without a regular host for the past for eight months.
