Another Ed Conroy piece in the Toronto Star:
Six Toronto TV shows ahead of their time
Have to confess I don't remember "Media Circus," the first show on the list. Watching and commenting on what was on the other stations, even as they were going on live. Fascinating concept. Unfortunately, a lot of the early TVO stuff doesn't seem to have been saved. There's at least an excerpt on YouTube.
[Edit] Meant to post this last week, but couldn't find it online until now. It's another Ed Conroy piece, this time on the influence of CityPulse on Toronto - and TV news in general.
Back when CityPulse was Everywhere!

Growing up I was also addicted to "Fast Forward" on TVO hosted by David Stringer. (Who I now am lucky to call a very good friend).
He's put a lot of stuff on YouTube and on his own website that can be a treasure trove for old tv shows

I loved Fast Forward and also really enjoyed David Stringer's Acme School which I subscribe to on youtube.
Didn't realize he had so much other stuff up there. Already added imagenorth to my list of subscriptions.
Thanks Iain.
And now, from 1976, here's some NightMusic from 1976 with FM and Jeff Plewman aka Nath the Slash.

This one
HAs to be in there also. Chuck the security guard. Chas Lawther & Errol Bruce. Strange days indeed .
Not 'unique' per se, since a bunch of stations were doing the cat's Pajamas' kinda thing, but this was sure unique to Toronto.
As was this .
Redux?
