The woman who died in that tragic Snowbirds crash in Kamloops, B.C. on the weekend had a strong connection to radio. Before Jennifer Casey took to the air, she was on it, working as a news person for CJBQ, the Quinte Broadcasting outlet in Belleville. From their website:
Casey started her radio career in her native Halifax, at CJNI-FM aka Rogers’ owned News 95.7. Their website indicates she served as a reporter, anchor and a producer for a local radio show there. The company has released a pic of her working at the station, prior to joining the Canadian Armed Forces in 2014. She became a member of the prestigious Snowbirds in 2018.
There’s still no immediate word on the cause of the crash.
