A pretty interesting article in the Buffalo News looks back on radio in that city in 1954 and a bizarre plan to somehow legitimize payola. It didn't fly, although the revelation that a program director was fired for allegedly considering taking money in a pay-for-play scheme didn't happen until around the year 2000 is astounding!
