TV Announcer Survives Three Major Heart Attacks On Same Day

I'm not a big watcher of The Price Is Right, but its latest announcer, George Gray, is in hospital after somehow surviving three serious heart attacks in the same day. The show is on hiatus during the COVID outbreak, so his absence may not be noticed, depending on when taping resumes. He suffered the first two cardiac incidents in the ambulance on the way to hospital and the third in the OR.

It's amazing he's still alive after a triple bypass.

TPIR has had several announcers over the years, including Johnny Olsen and Rod Roddy. The latter has a history that should be noted here - he was once a disc jockey on the legendary WKBW during its rock days.

Very sad indeed.  He is a true survivor.  Wishing him well.

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...

Re: TV Announcer Survives Three Major Heart Attacks On Same Day

Former CTV-turned-CKEY newscaster Tom Gould had a heart attack live on air seconds after his intro played on the 5 PM news. There was a pre-produced announcement saying, "This is CKEY News At 5. Now here is Tom Gould." He turned on his mic just as the cardiac event began and all listeners heard was someone gasping for breath.

They quickly cut away to a spot, an ambulance was called and he was rushed to hospital. He survived it, but I can't quite recall if he ever returned to the air there. He later turned up on Global.

He passed away from cancer in 2016.
