CTV Journalist Grew Up with Nova Scotia Shooting Suspect

Todd Battis who is CTV's Atlantic Bureau Chief came out this morning that he grew up with the Nova Scotia shooting suspect and they went to school together. Battis said he knew the individual as a decent "goofball" teenager.  Such a terrible sad story that we are only starting to get details on.

It's going to be a long day...

I think too that we are in isolation and have more time to think and grieve, that stories like this have more of an impact. If we were out doing life as before, we'd probably not be as affected by this, but now when we are home, not doing much it gives us time to feel it more...

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...

Re: CTV Journalist Grew Up with Nova Scotia Shooting Suspect

Since yesterday this story has taken over news coverage on the Canadian news channels. You are right Muffaraw Joe, the isolation aspect for everyone and the daily stress of COVID-19 only makes this terrible sad story worse.

Small close communities that would know those that were taken and not even able to have proper funerals, memorial services, even to hold each other, and do the things that people do to comfort each other.

This has been Canada's worst mass shooting.  And yesterday in Nova Scotia more deaths by gun than in the whole province last year.

I am not a big Trudeau fan, but he is speaking very well this morning.
