This is a great idea, if only because it doesn't cost anyone anything and God knows, Canucks announcer Al Murdoch has the time. He's begun doing a daily "goal" call, using the names of people who write to him requesting it. So a young lad might want to score an imagined goal with an assist from his grandpa - and Murdoch shoots it on his cell phone and then sends it to the kid.
That has to be the gift of a lifetime!
The article notes that other announcers, including one in Toronto, is also doing the same thing, although I haven't been able to find any evidence of a place where Joe Bowen is plying that trade.
Anyway, a nice way to give back during what is a long layoff in the COVID-19 penalty box that no one expected.
