A Radio Goodbye

I mentioned on the FM thread that I have been listening to old radio tapes and I came upon this. The end of progressive free form on WZIR ( Wizard) in Buffalo from 1981.

I am finding some tapes that I have not uploaded to the web site yet but this is one I have uploaded before however I have isolated a portion to post here. What's remarkable is that I recorded this on slow speed reel to reel ( that has the worst quality as it uses less tape) but the tape has survived quite well.

The tape features DJ Gary Storm along with Louie The Mad Vinyl Junkie and they speak about maintaining integrity on the radio and how hard that had become on commercial radio but that it should not be hard to play good music and make money. Also an interesting ad featuring Father Guido - Space Gourmet.

Gary Storm would actually return on WUWU for a few years after this broadcast
