The Fan played a presser with former Jay teammate and current TV play-by-play man Buck Martinez on Sunday. He paid tribute to Fernandez and revealed he had quite the sense of humour that may not have always been obvious to fans.

Among the stories he told was about keeping George Bell's ego in check. One time he asked the clubhouse, "What do George Bell and Michael Jackson have in common?" 

And the answer was "Both wear a glove for no apparent reason!"

He was a great player and this is a very sad way to leave the park.

Here is a link to a Sportsnet video tribute read by Jerry Howarth...and you will hear Tom Cheek, see a CBC TV logo, they used to carry some games back in the day...

I loved Tony as a player, he really was a joy to watch.
