Good last word from Don Martin and all of it true. Even though Don was a good journalist, he was a little ill suited to anchor a television show.  Always came across as too glib and too "inside Ottawa" for my taste. Often the talents of people in print media don't always translate well to television. They are better as guests rather than anchoring a program.

Evan Soloman is a good choice to anchor Power Play, which along with Power and Politics with Vassey Kapelos are two pretty good shows.  I like Vassey; she isn't afraid to ask the same question to a politician 3 or 4 times if they are being evasive. . If they don't answer the question she will say.."so you aren't going to answer the question.." and then moves on. And if they get into boring talking points she will cut them off, and ask the question again.  Wish more journalists would do this. She is pleasant, but all business when it comes down to interviewing elected officials or party representatives.
