Happy Halloween to you today...
It was October 30th when Orson Wells went on air with H.G. Wells, "The War of the Worlds"...that broadcast really had deep impact...using radio as theater of the mind...
What was a Halloween moment that impacted you? Maybe it was a Halloween Song, or an on air prank...what was a special moment on radio or T.V. that you'd like to share?
I remember as a kid, trick or treating and a radio station had a contest that had us asking if the house we were calling on was a "Go-14 Haunted House" if it was, we'd win a prize... (Go-14 was CFGO 1440 in Ottawa at the time)...
Can you imagine every kid asking every home owner about this? Talk about great word of mouth advertising!
One other all Hallows eve memory was listening to the Dr. Demento Show and his crazy mix of music...one song that was fun, but scary (at the time) was "They're coming to take me away" ...
So on this day where candy is a plenty and we don our masks and costumes...what is an broadcasting memory of the day you'd like to share?
Cheers and go easy out there tonight as you trick and or treat!
