NT1010 Launches New TV Ad

I can recall seeing a lot of Virgin and Kiss 92.5 ads on TV in the past few months, but it seems like years since I've seen CFRB do any advertising on the tube. But on CTV Toronto's noon news, there it was, with people driving around in their cars and small snippets from all the major hosts - and a few newscasters doing generic headlines.

The old "switch to a smarter commute" tagline, which they used a few years ago, was back. The important fall ratings period must be upon us.

News is one of the few things I watch live, so I can't say if this is as unusual as I think it is since I generally speed past ads on my DVR. But if it is the first time in a long time, it's interesting that 'RB would come back to the visual medium after so many years away.

I wonder if we'll see it on some non-Bell owned stations or if they get some kind of discount or freebie for running it on a co-owned outlet.

IF it's about a"discount or freebie" then this means:

CTV= NT 1010 ads
CityTV= 680 news ads
Global = GNR 640 radio ads...have there been any?

I had a chance to listen to, and watch the 1010 ad several times over when Mike Bendixen tweeted it a while back, and there are small snippets from all the hosts: Moore, Richards, Jay, Ryan, Barb D except one host is missing: Jerry Agar, which is really odd.

Also at the time I noticed the lack of balance of female voices was very noticeable. Barb DiGuilio ? she's in there twice.

Just to make sure, I listened to it again just now: no Agar and double Barb.

Kinda careless promotion for a major radio station.

I'm not sure which ad was tweeted, but the one running on TV features both Agar and DiGiulio. Perhaps they cut a new version before it was broadcast.

Thanks for the update RA, I haven't heard/seen the latest tv version of the ad. I was just going on the ad Mike B had tweeted.

Re: NT1010 Launches New TV Ad

Saw an ad for TSN 1050 a couple of times on the weekend on CTV and CP24. They were promoting the Overdrive afternoon program. I guess with Bob McCowan leaving and all of the changes at The Fan 590, , Bell is seeing an opportunity.  TSN 1050 has only one way to go and that is up, and it's nice to see both of Bell's AM stations in Toronto getting some promotion..Haven't noticed if there have been any promos for TSN 1150 on CHCH yet. Even though channel 11 has no radio ownership connections, I have noticed commercials for Jewel FM, K-Lite and Y108 from time to time.
