Hey IG!
I just got "had on Facebook" by some disatisfied reader who blasted me anonymously!
I thought the radio board was getting irrelevant?
Wish I'd saved a screenshot, but I woke up to my friends clamoring that this guy was blasting me on my account.
Wow! Keep up the hatemail!
If you subscribe to me, read the email posting.
I LOVE IT!
it got ruined though when he got to the the end he praised me for PHP....
to the writer:
IF YOU'RE GOING TO CALL ME NAMES,
TELL ME I'M WORTHLESS AND "HAS BEEN" AND LEAVE IT AT THAT.
DON'T THEN TURN AROUND AND SAY SOMETHING GOOD!
IT RUINS YOUR SCREED AND YOU LOSE ALL CREDIBILITY! (Which was "tenuous" at best because you hid behind a pseudonym)
(Never thought I'd have to teach the proper way to write "anonymous hate mail!")

I just ignore all of that poop. Whoever it is isn't worth a milli-second of your time. You respond? They win.

I was asleep when he posted. Dumped it asap.
Still, it's fun razzing the haters!
Did I ever tell you about reading Lowell Greens hate-mail at CFRA? WOW!
Was that nasty!
Mine is mild by comparison. Then they always compliment me for PHP...Weird.

Have you considered engaging the Elvis Preszler Law Firm? Sue their arses off. You don't pay unless Elvis collects money (for both of you, especially him)

I'm not reposting this to Facebook, but I will share it with readers here.
Criticism is fair and welcome. Insult is not.
Like they say on the other board: "Don't be a DICK!"
Enjoy!

If it were me, I'd just laugh at people like that and respond with "What? My on the radio today is My a freak? Wow! Thanks for the info!".

I'd read it on the air. Why not?
It's not so much hate as nasty anonymous negative opinion. (He/she did say they like your show, so hell, if nothing else it's a listener)
You could certainly air it, They bring up a few fair points, and it would certainly make for some interesting phone calls. I know you and I understand why it's so important to establish where you are now and explain how you got here and where you've come from, but maybe it's worth explaining it to other listeners as well. I think it would make a great discussion.
This was phrased in the usual anonymous cowardly 'no holds barred' way, but when you turn the asshole quotient down on it, they don't dislike you, or your show, they don't seem to understand why the foundation for that show and subsequently the advice you give is so important to you. Just make sure it doesn't turn into a poor me segment, you could end up with lines clogged by supportive callers and no real discussion coming out of it.
Explain why your story is important to you, and why you bear it all, to tell it and document it in public.
BTW for what it's worth, almost every time I've said some nasty things about that band of crooks at Queens Park I get pretty much the same feedback, except they hate me and the show as well .

no, the point is, who HASN"T had their share of hate mail/calls/emails, whatever. this isn't unusual, it's par for the course. nothing special about this, it's just what personalities experience. seriously, it's just part of the business. i had a stalker when i was doing weekends at 16 in 1989. it happens

Stalkers and hate mail are part of the business.
Always have been and always will be. I just don't want it on my wall.
