CBC’s CEO says public broadcaster is not the enemy of local media
A number of yrs ago it was argued here (also on the K-W message board before that one died) that the future of privately-owned broadcasting is, indeed "local" so for those who still embrace that sentiment, the woman has a point. In fact, the matter came up at Waterloo's Harmony Lunch last winter

Someone should ask the reporters who do months of work on local stories only to have the CBC rewrite the story and get one additional quote and call it original reporting.
The CBC does it all the time and many reporters, particularly freelancers know it.
