An interesting read as to why the CBC is taking on a more aggressive approach to bringing in more ad revenue, in light of the fact that they are publicly funded.
Here is the link to the story...
My take is it does cost money to produce new content and introduce new platforms (Mobile, podcasts, online...etc.).
If the financial people at the Mother Corp, feel increased revenue is needed to invest in new media platforms and content, then go get it.
Feel free to share your views, the piece in today's National Post does bring up some concerns, but then it could be written from a space of "Life is not fair" where the CBC and funding are concerned as well!

Now that it has been revealed, by CTV News Network, that Postmedia will receive a $5,000,000 'research' grant from the federal government, does that place Postmedia squarely in the same category as the Red Star or the left-wing pinkos at the CBC?
Stand by...incoming.

As a poster whose politics lean right of center...sadly yes. I do not support government (our) dollars going to any media outlet; regardless of its' editorial slant.
Given Postmedia's editorial history, I am disappointed (but honestly not surprised) by this latest development.
A pox on all their houses!
