YouTube closes it's studio/maker space in Toronto

For Canadian homegrown Youtubers with a solid audience and a good amount of followers, they are going to have to look elsewhere for production facilities...

YouTube is shutting the doors on their Richmond St. East (Inside George Brown) production facilities. If you've never been in, they have a few studios where you can do your shoots and you can use the outside too...they also have a meeting space under the YouTube banner.

I found them to be a bit hard to work with, open after 2 pm, closed Monday and you could only access the studio if you had a good number of followers on your YouTube channel. Plus, they had no direct phone number, one needed to email them and hope they respond or call Google Canada, which was also a challenge to speak to a live voice!

Here is more on the studio shut-down...

Now, for anyone seeking studio space, it looks like it's the parents basement, complete with the wood panel walls and shag carpet!

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...
